SEATTLE — Seattle Wine Awards has named several local vintners as winners in its 2025 wine tasting.
A panel of 18 masters of wine, master sommeliers, wine buyers, wine directors, sommeliers and journalists included wines, ciders and meads from Camaraderie Cellars in Port Angeles, Wind Rose Cellars in Sequim and Port Townsend’s Eaglemount Wine and Cider and The Mead Werks at Wilderbee Farms.
Camaraderie Cellars brought home Diamond of The Decade awards for its 2015 Yakima Valley Sangiovese and its 2015 Columbia Valley Syrah.
Camaraderie also earned gold medals for its 2022 Columbia Valley Reserve Merlot, 2022 Bordeaux-style Columbia Valley Les Amis, 2022 Bordeaux-style Columbia Valley Grâce, 2022 White Bluffs Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, 2022 Yakima Valley Cadeaux du Rhône, 2022 Yakima Valley Grenache and its 2022 Columbia Valley Merlot.
The winery also earned silver medals its 2022 Yakima Valley Tempranillo and its 2022 Columbia Valley Syrah.
Eaglemount Wine and Cider earned gold medal for its 2015 Olympic Peninsula port-style dessert wine and for its 2023 Olympic Peninsula Honey Pear mead-style cider as well as a silver medal for its 2019 Raven, a Columbia Valley Bordeaux-style red.
The Mead Werks at Wilderbee Farms, in their first year at the competition, won gold medals for its Bourbon-flavorerd 2018 Nectarious After Dark mead, 2023 Magnificent Mango mead, 2022 One Night in Kashmir mead, 2020 Autumnal mead, 2020 Fallen mead and its 2021 Nectarious sweet mead.
Wind Rose Cellars earned gold medals for its 2018 Yakima Valley Barbera and its 2017 Yakima Valley Malbec.
The winery also brought home silver medals for its 2023 Yakima Valley Carmenere and for its 2021 Yakima Valley Mourvèdre.
