Studio Bob entryway panels restoration underway

PORT ANGELES — The panels that flank the entryway to Studio Bob are being restored.

The panels, representing Tragedy and Comedy, were created by Regie Saxerud almost 10 years ago. They have been taken down from the entryway at 118½ E. Front St., in Port Angeles for maintenance and repair.

“You may have noticed that the amazing panels flanking the entryway to Studio Bob have been removed. Perhaps you are worried this means a radical shift in management and event offerings at Studio Bob, or maybe even the impending closure of a beloved institution?” Christopher Allen, studio manager with Steve Thomas, said in an email.

“Have no fear! Owner Bob Stokes has commissioned the talented Cyrrah Gunia to restore the originals, and to re-create the top panel that will go over the existing piece, which is too damaged to repair,” he said.

The art around the entryway will be back some time early in the new year. In the meantime, the space will host a rotating display of holiday-themed art.

Visitors can meet the new studio managers, Allen and Thomas, at the Loom Bar, which is open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
