WE ARE EXCITED to be part of the Sound Publishing family for 2023 and look forward to responding to your queries in this regular column as well as email, social media and phone.

The upcoming Jefferson County Community Leadership Awards are rapidly approaching on Saturday, March 25, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We are honored to again be producing this event to honor our Jefferson County Community Heroes. There were so many nominations it was difficult for the review panel to choose the finalists (posted on the Chamber website) and look forward to learning their Awardee selections for the event.

There are no losers here, all the nominees and finalists are “winners.” That said, the real winners are all of us who live and work in Jefferson County whose quality of life has been so positively impacted by these amazing people. Join us on the 25th to honor them with tickets available on the Chamber website or a business sponsorship. This event features great live music, Hills & Valley Catering providing a mashtini bar along with a chocolate fountain with food and beverage service included in the ticket price along with our keynote speaker, Leif Whittaker, a Port Townsend native, the internationally acclaimed author of “My Old Man and The Mountain.” We have another new Chamber event upcoming from our Women in Leadership group in conjunction with the Port Townsend Film Festival. This will be a screening of a short film with a facilitated workshop to follow and limited to the first 40 sign-ups.

“What would you do if you knew you would succeed” is the overarching theme and something to seriously ponder. We’ll be providing sips and snacks plus free popcorn along with connecting opportunity and great discussion. Registration is now open now on the Chamber website.

Also new on the Chamber website is a page devoted to your organization/business volunteer needs. Just fill in the online form and we’ll add your needs to the list available to anyone, not for members only. This is, like our job board, open to anyone to list or search. We are here to serve the community and in listening to your needs are constantly updating our services. Have a great idea you believe the community needs-let’s chat!

For more about the chamber, drop in at 2409 Jefferson St., in Port Townsend, see www.jeffcountychamber.org, phone 360-385-7869 or email admin@jeff countychamber.org.
