PORT ANGELES — New at Randolf Frederick Co. Studio, located in Port Angeles at The Landing mall, 115 E. Railroad Avenue, Suite 211, Doug Orsburn, right, presents his “Spirit Bear” creations.

Orsburn is of Seneca descent. He grew up in the local area and lives in Sequim.

Spirit Bear is devoted to preserving the authentic methods of creating Native American tools and bead work.

Orsburn’s specialties include spears, tomahawks, antler horn-handled knapped knives, medicine man sticks, turtle shell rattles, walking sticks and more. His work is recognized by the Shoshone and Arapoho tribes as authentic Native American art.

Orsburn is usually in the studio twice a month and during the 2nd Friday Artwalk.

Yia-Yia, above, who is also featured often at the studio, creates photography, jewelry, notes and postcards. See her work at www.facebook.com/PhotosbyYiaYia.

Sequim Post Office hours extended

SEQUIM — The Sequim Post Office, 240 S. Sunnyside Ave., is extending its retail hours of operation for the convenience of customers during the traditionally heavy holiday mailing season, according to Postmaster Mardi Muru.

The office will be open on the four Saturdays leading up to Christmas — this Saturday plus Dec. 6, 13 and 20 — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with full retail service.

“We also have a self-service kiosk in our lobby that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” Muru said.

“Customers can perform a number of postal transactions at the kiosks, including weighing and shipping packages, buying postage, mailing letters, looking up zip codes, paying post office box fees and adding certified and insurance services.”

Law at the Landing

PORT ANGELES — Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers will present the fourth Law at The Landing event from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6.

Law at The Landing is a free drop-in legal advice clinic for the public.

Held quarterly at The Landing mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave., this clinic allows local people to address their legal issues in one-on-one consultations with volunteer lawyers.

The event is geared toward helping those who are financially unable to otherwise access an attorney but is open to all those who are interested.

Attorney volunteers will be available to answer legal questions, direct people to local services that might be of assistance and to explain the legal process.

Demand for the clinic is anticipated to be high, so attendees are advised to arrive on time to ensure being seen by an attorney.
