PORT ANGELES — Norwegian food and a sampling of traditional culture await those who attend the annual Sons of Norway feast from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
The lutefisk and meatball dinner will be in the community room at Holy Trinity Church, 301 E. Lopez Ave.
The special feast is open to the public.
Admission is $20 for adults and $9 for those 11 and younger at the door.
“This is an opportunity for townspeople to experience traditional Norwegian food and culture,” said Elsa Johnson, a longtime member of Sons of Norway, which has a lodge at 131 W. Fifth St.
Lutefisk is specially prepared codfish, an historic national dish.
The dinner also will feature homemade Norwegian flatbread called lefse, a dessert corner with riscrem and many types of Scandinavian cookies.
Dancers will perform in traditional bunader.
Scandinavian gifts will be offered for sale.
The annual feast has been put on for some 40 years, Johnson said.
It was organized this year by Kathryn Hofer.
