WEEKEND: Community kirtan slated for tonight in downtown Port Angeles

“Today” signifies Friday, Nov. 14.

PORT ANGELES — The Kula Yoga studio will host a community kirtan gathering today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the public is invited.

Admission is a suggested $5 donation at Kula, 128 E. Front St.

Kirtan is an ancient practice of call-and-response singing and chanting, with connection to gods and goddesses in the yogic tradition.

No musical experience is necessary, said Kula owner Jenny Stewart Houston, and all who are curious are encouraged to come.
