IT’S SAFE TO SAY those who attended the Jefferson and Clallam county fairs last month had a hollerin’ good time based on the photos we received for our County Fair Photo Contest.

With 38 entries, the competition was formidable. But over a week, online voters selected these images from four talented photographers.

The first place winner, “How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls?,” was taken by Kim Walters of Chimacum.

She won a gift certificate from Wilder Auto worth $100.

2nd — Rebecca Wilkinson of Sequim for “Pure Joy.”

Prize: $25 gift certificate from Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, courtesy of Richard E. Davies, DDS

3rd — Carl Gay of Port Angeles for “Flying High at the Carnival.”

Prize: $25 gift card from 7 Cedars Casino

4th — Mike Wegener of Port Angeles for “Roller Coaster.”

Prize: $25 gift card from Clallam Co-op in Sequim
