PORT ANGELES — The Lincoln Park BMX Park raised $45,164 for the Benny’s Lap-a-Thon fundraiser.

Bruch and Bruch Construction matched the lap-a-thon with $25,000 of its own for a total of $71,164 raised in the event.

David “Benny” Benoff is one of Lincoln Park BMX’s main volunteers. He suffered a stroke in July and has a long road to recovery, including extensive ADA improvements to his home.

The top four riders in the fundraiser were Kylin Weitz, $2,500, first; Cash Coleman, $2,480, second; Tim Hutto, $2,186, third; and Russell Gaither, $1,650, fourth.

More than 3,900 laps were ridden by all the riders for Benoff.
