A Port Angeles firefighter douses hot spots on a recreational vehicle that caught fire near the alley behind Little Caesars Pizza, 1315 E. Front St., in Port Angeles on Tuesday evening.

Capt. Terry Reid of the Port Angeles Fire Department said the RV’s owner, who was living in the vehicle at the time, had left for awhile and came back to smoke. When he opened the door, it erupted into flames.

A nearby van, which was parked next to the RV and owned by the same person, was damaged by heat and flames, but no other structures were damaged.

Reid said Tuesday night that the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

No one was injured in the incident.
