PORT TOWNSEND — Crystal Periot and daughter Imogen, 3, of Redmond paint orbs for THING’s nighttime lantern parades.

The Port Townsend School of the Arts set up the painting tent at the festival, where lantern parades were planned for Saturday and today at 10 p.m.

The musician Bedouine transfixed the crowd Saturday afternoon with her singing at THING, the festival at Fort Worden State Park this weekend.

The artist is one of scores of performers at the sold-out inaugural event, which continues until midnight tonight.
