BEAVER — The State Patrol expects to file charges of taking a motor vehicle without permission, driving while intoxicated and driving while suspended against a Port Angeles man following a wreck on U.S. Highway 101 north of Forks.

In a report, the State Patrol said a 2001 Chrysler Sebring was reported stolen at 8:58 p.m. Wednesday.

At 9:28 p.m., the vehicle — which the State Patrol said was driven by Skyler W. Vestal, 30, of Port Angeles — was southbound on Highway 101 when it left the roadway to the right near milepost 202.

A second vehicle, identified as a 2001 Ford Ranger driven by a Forks woman, stopped to provide assistance.

The State Patrol alleged that Vestal took the Ford and left the scene, headed south.

The Ford was stopped and Vestal was taken into custody without incident at milepost 193.

No injuries were reported.
