UPDATE: U.S. 101 reopened after three-vehicle crash near Diamond Point

DIAMOND POINT — A three-vehicle injury head-on crash blocked traffic in both directions on U.S. Highway 101 at Guiles Road earlier today, but traffic is reported flowing normally now.

A pickup truck bearing Alaska license plates apparently crossed the centerline and collided with either a semi truck or an SUV — authorities could immediately determine which one because of the wreckage scattered along the highway — at about 11:30 a.m.

Eastbound traffic was crawling through the scene as of 12:45 p.m.

The unidentified driver of the pickup truck reportedly suffered a broken arm, the State Patrol said. He was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle from Diamond Point Airport.
