Cool off indoors on Peninsula

Havens from the heat are open on the North Olympic Peninsula.

The Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101, has extended its hours to 5 p.m. today.

The Quilcene Community Center, 294952 U.S. Highway 101, is open from noon to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

Public libraries in both counties offer respite from hot weather. They are Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave., Port Hadlock; Port Townsend Library, 1220 Lawrence St., Port Townsend; Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.; Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.; Forks Library, 171 S. Forks Ave.; and Clallam Bay Library, 16990 state Highway 112.
