Police searching for Liberty Street prowler

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles police continued looking for a prowler Monday afternoon after shutting down the 500 block of Liberty Street for about an hour earlier in the morning.

Officers responded to a call about 8:15 a.m., Port Angeles Police Chief Brian Smith said, and although no one was at the residence, there was evidence of unlawful entry.

A K9 unit was brought in to search the residence, Smith wrote in an email.

“Detectives and officers completed a search warrant and are running down leads. Right now we do not have anyone in custody,” the email stated.
