Port Townsend Mexican restaurant celebrating its first anniversary

PORT TOWNSEND — Cassandra and Lissette Garay, owners of La Cocina Port Townsend, will mark their first year in business on Friday, July 21.

The Mexican restaurant, at 221 Taylor St., opened its doors in July 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The restaurant serves house-made, locally sourced meals from noon to 5 p.m. Fridays through Tuesdays.

The couple also sells retail products, such corn tortillas, corn tortilla chips, salsas and hot sauces, at the Port Townsend Farmers Market and the Corner Farmstand in Chimacum.

Their tortilla chips and roja salsa are now served at the The Keg & I taproom in Chimacum as well.
