EYE ON JEFFERSON: Commissioners consider letter of application for Phase 3

The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider approving a letter of application to the state for the county to move into Phase 3 when they meet in special session at 9 a.m. Monday.

Commissioners approved on June 18 applying to enter Phase 3 of Gov. Jay Inlsee’s Safe Start program on June 29.

Before considering the application to the state, commissioners will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 from Dr. Tom Locke, county health officer.

Commissioners also will discuss approving a burn ban for the summer season.

Chimacum schools

The Chimacum School Board will conduct a budget work session at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
