PHOTO: Services for veterans offered during stand down event in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — Richard Roberts of Port Angeles, a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War, examines a free coat during Thursday’s stand down at the Clallam County Fairgrounds in Port Angeles.

The one-day event, organized by Voices for Veterans, brought together a variety of service agencies to provide assistance to veterans and their immediate families, along with a hot meal, clothing, medical examinations and aid for pets.
