Port Townsend native honored for engineering

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi has named Port Townsend native Rose Ridder as a society laureate.

Ridder is a senior studying materials science and engineering at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.

According to a press release, Ridder and the other three 2019 Tau Beta Pi Laureates will receive a $2,500 cash award in October at the society’s annual convention in Columbus, Ohio.
