PORT HADLOCK — A two-car wreck at the intersection of state Highway 20 and Four Corners Road at 3 p.m. Tuesday resulted in no injuries but slowed traffic in all directions for roughly a half-hour while crews tried to clear the roadway.

The driver of a white Acura attempted to cross Highway 20 but failed to yield to a small gray pickup truck that had the right of way heading east down Highway 20, said Sgt. Gailin Hester of the State Patrol.

“The car in front of the truck was turning right, and he [the driver of the Acura] thought that was the last car,” Hester said. “He just failed to yield.”

The names and ages of the drivers involved were not released Tuesday. As of 4:30 p.m., the roadway was clear in all directions.

Neither the driver of the pickup truck nor the driver of the Acura suffered any injuries, and there were no passengers in either vehicle.

First responders from East Jefferson Fire-Rescue were first on the scene with a fire engine and an ambulance. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office also responded but handed the investigation of the accident over to the State Patrol.
