EYE ON BUSINESS: This week’s meetings — corrected

EDITOR’S NOTE: Corrects the location of the North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce’s meeting.

■ Forks Chamber of Commerce — Luncheon meetings are Wednesdays at noon at Blakeslee’s Bar & Grill, 1222 S. Forks Ave.

This Wednesday’s gathering will feature Mark Ozias, Clallam County commissioner, District 1.

Lunch of $9.75 will include an entree and sides. The soup of the day will be clam chowder.

■ Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce — Twice-monthly ­luncheon meetings are held on the first Monday at noon at the Port Townsend Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., and the third Monday at noon at Fort Worden Commons, 200 Battery Way.

This Monday’s program will feature Ben Tomson of BhT Films on “strategies to effectively reach potential customers through video marketing.”

The luncheon’s sponsor will be The CoLab.

Lunch by Subway costs $8.

■ North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce — Representing the “Emerald Towns” of the Hood Canal, Quilcene and Brinnon, the chamber meets monthly on the third Monday of the month.

The group will meet this Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Quilcene Community Center, 294952 U.S. Highway 101 in Quilcene, to hear Bob Rosen, former Hollywood film Producer and current manager of the Quilcene Community Center, be interviewed by host David Neuenschwander. Rosen worked on a variety of projects including “Little Big Man,” “Gilligan’s Island,” “The Crow” and several comedies starring Leslie Nielsen.

■ Port Angeles Business Association — Breakfast meetings with networking and educational programs are held Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m. at Joshua’s Restaurant, 113 ­DelGuzzi Drive (off U.S. Highway 101) in east Port Angeles.

​This​ Tuesday’s meeting will be a​n election forum ​with two of the three can​didates ​in the Aug. 2 primary election ​for state representative​, 24th District, Position 1: Mike Chapman​​, a Democrat and one of three Clallam County commissioners, and George Vrable of Port Ludlow​, ​who filed as GOP/independent party​. ​Vrable is a car reservation agent in Port Angeles.

​The third candidate, ​Democrat Tammy Ramsay​​ of Hoquiam​, said “a​n​ unforeseen occurrence​“ will keep her from being part of the forum.

The top two vote-getters​ in the primary, regardless of party affiliation, will advance to the Nov. 8 general election​.​​

There is a $3 minimum charge by Joshua’s for those at the PABA meeting who do not order breakfast.
