JOYCE — The state Department of Transportation has lifted an over-legal-load restriction on the Lyre River Bridge, which is 4 miles west of Joyce on state Highway 112.

The restriction was put into place July 23 after a routine bridge inspection revealed carpenter ant damage to one of the bridge’s wooden piles.

Crews have removed the damaged pile and replaced it with a new steel pile, Transportation said Wednesday.
