Sequim announces winners of Karaoke Idol contest

SEQUIM — Natalie Wilson is Sequim’s 2015 Karaoke Idol.
The city held the fourth annual Karaoke Idol competition July 28 as part of this year’s Music in the Park summer concert series.
Sixteen musical acts competed for the title. Wilson won first place for her renditions of “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Somebody to Love.”
Kaylee Ditlefsen won second place and Lisa Wentworth third place in the fourth annual competition.
An honorable mention was given to the duet of Katy Bowman and Michael Curran.
Hosts for the evening were Pepper Fisher and Sue Hagener.
The judges were Mayor Candace Pratt, Councilman Ken Hays, City Clerk Karen Kuznek-Reese and Communications Director Barbara Hanna.
The Music in the Park program continues Tuesday evenings throughout August at 6 p.m. at the James Center for the Performing Arts, located at the Water Reuse Demonstration Site, just north of Carrie Blake Park at 563 N. Rhodefer Road.
Upcoming acts are the Stardust Dance Band this coming Tuesday; gypsy jazz by Ranger and the Re-Arrangers on Aug. 11; bluegrass, folk, rock and blues by Joy in Mudville on Aug. 18; and the Navy Band of the Northwest on Aug. 25.
Music in the Park is funded by local businesses and residents.
