PORT ANGELES — Olympic National Park will celebrate National Park Week this month by waiving entrance fees April 18-19.
On April 18, children and their families are invited to National Junior Ranger Day at the Olympic National Park Visitor Center, 3002 Mount Angeles Road.
The theme of the nationwide National Park Week, which is April 18-26, is “Find Your Park” — and all are invited to go online to find their national parks and share their stories at www.FindYourPark.com.
Launched March 30 by the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, Find Your Park is a public awareness and education campaign celebrating the milestone centennial anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016.
“Find Your Park invites the public to see that a national park can be more than a place,” a park news release said.
“It can be a feeling, a state of mind or a sense of American pride.”
Olympic also will welcome Washington Coast Cleanup volunteers to park beaches April 25.
