Festival of Trees tickets still available; three-day fundraiser starts Nov. 28 in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — Tickets are still available for all events at the Festival of Trees set Nov. 28-30.

Tickets to the Teddy Bear Tea, the Festival of Trees Gala, Family Days Breakfast and Family Days can be purchased at the Olympic Medical Center Foundation office at 1015 Georgiana St. or by phoning 360-417-7144.

“If people want to go to either of the Teddy Bear Teas or the gala, both of which are held on Friday [Nov. 28], we advise them to get their tickets as early as they can. Both of these events sell out early,” said Bruce Skinner, foundation executive director.

Now in its 24th year, the annual event is a three-day fundraiser for the OMC Foundation and the Port Angeles Exchange Club.

Elaborately decorated Christmas trees and wreaths created by volunteer designers are featured during the festival held at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.

Each tree comes with a number of presents, ranging from trips to televisions and other premiums.

They will be auctioned off at the $95-per-person Festival of Trees Gala and Auction on Nov. 28.

The gala, which will begin at 5:30 p.m., also will offer a buffet meal, live dance music and a silent auction.

Before then, the first to see the Christmas decorations will be the children and parents who partake of refreshments, entertainment and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Teddy Bear Teas at 10 a.m. and noon.

At 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, will be the Family Days Breakfast.

Later that day and Nov. 30, the public can view the trees and wreaths during Family Days, when tickets are $5 per person.

Back this year will be the all-class Port Angeles High School reunion at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29.
