BUSINESS BRIEFS — Port Angeles seminar Wednesday to highlight start-ups . . . and other local business items

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College Entrepreneur Institute and the Clallam Economic Development Council will host a free entrepreneurial seminar on the Peninsula College campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Meet in the Keegan Hall Lecture Room, M-125.

The seminar is targeted to anyone who is thinking about starting or already has a home-based, online, retail or service enterprise.

Some of the topics that will be explored include what it takes to run one’s own business, how to perform a self-assessment, the many resources available to potential and existing business owners and the best sources for technical assistance and financing.

Presenters at the seminar include Brian Kuh, president of the Clallam Economic Development Council and business lender for Craft3, and Jim Williams, entrepreneur instructor for Peninsula College and a small-business owner.

Therapist greeting

PORT ANGELES — Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy, 1108 E. First St., will host an open house to welcome its new physical therapist, Megan Sproull, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Information will be available about Therapeutic Associates’ aquatic physical therapy program offered in collaboration with William Shore Memorial Pool in Port Angeles.

Banker awarded

PORT ANGELES — First Federal Vice President/Marketing Manager Jeanine Lee was recently awarded the certified financial marketing professional designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association in Washington, D.C.

Lee has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and has been with First Federal since 2011, beginning as a branch manager.

She accepted the position of marketing manager later that year.

Lee is responsible for managing the marketing and promotion of First Federal’s products, services and people.

Donation program

PORT ANGELES — Bill Koenig Chevrolet Subaru, 3501 E. U.S. Highway 101, is participating in Subaru’s 2014 “Share the Love” program, to run from Nov. 20-Jan. 2.

The charity program allows Subaru retailers the opportunity to sell their Subaru stock for a cause.

With each Subaru sold, Subaru of America will donate $250 to one or a combination of the following charities: American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals On Wheels Association of America and the National Park Foundation

In addition to the national charities, Olympic Peninsula Humane Society will be given a donation with the money raised from new Subaru owners at the end of the program.
