EYE ON CLALLAM: Commissioners to eye options for state refund

The three Clallam County Commissioners will discuss options for use of a $500,000 state refund for extraordinary criminal justice costs related to the 2013 double-murder trial of Darold Stenson and an Economic Development Council request for use of Opportunity Fund money Monday.

The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

The regular business meeting, normally held Tuesdays, was moved to 11 a.m. Monday because of Veterans Day.

The courthouse will be closed Tuesday for the holiday.

Agenda items for the Monday business meeting include:

■ A purchase order with Hyland Software adding a module to existing software in the clerk’s office.

■ An agreement with the state Military Department and U.S. Department of Homeland Security funding emergency management programs.

■ An agreement with ABHS Specialty Services II LLC for chemical dependency services for adults.

■ Resolutions restructuring and adding a member to the Homelessness Task Force.

■ A resolution acknowledging receipt of a policy amendment from the Disability Board.

■ A resolution calling a Dec. 2 hearing on debatable budget emergencies.

■ A resolution calling for a Nov. 25 hearing on the six-year Transportation Improvement Program.

Sequim City Council

The Sequim City Council will conduct public hearings on proposed rates and fees, property tax levy and budget for 2015.

The council will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St.

The council is expected to adopt the fees, levy and budget Nov. 24.

The council also will consider approving the floor plans and elevation plans for the Guy Cole Convention Center and an updated contract with Facilitec Inc. for no more than $460,000 for furniture and fixtures for the new civic center.

Forks City Council

The Forks City Council will conduct public hearings on the proposed 2015 budget and the creation of a new licensing requirement in the animal code when it meets Monday.

The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at 500 E. Division St.

The council also will consider a resolution regarding the 2015 property tax levy.

The proposed new chapter in the Forks animal code will outline licensing requirements for those with numerous animals and set penalties for violations.

The council also will consider an amendment to the code pertaining to the small-works roster, Community Development Block Grant program income for the Rainforest Arts Center and a coho-smolt partnership with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Clallam PUD

Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider a staff recommendation on a firm to provide special inspection and materials testing related to new PUD facilities Monday.

The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Port Angeles main office, 2431 E. U.S. Highway 101.

Clallam Conservation District

The Clallam Conservation District’s regularly scheduled November meeting was moved from Nov. 11 to Nov. 18 because of Veterans Day.

Port of Port Angeles

The Port of Port Angeles commissioners’ regular meeting will be held Thursday instead of Tuesday because of Veterans Day.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the public meeting room at the port administrative building, 338 W. First St., Port Angeles.
