BUSINESS — U.S. Bank grants to local nonprofits total $13,000

SEQUIM — U.S. Bank grants to North Olympic Peninsula nonprofit groups total $13,000 this year.
Among the organizations receiving funds is Sequim Community Aid.
The bank has given a total of $8,500 to Sequim Community Aid since 2009.
It is volunteer-run nonprofit and has been serving the community since 1947.
The group’s mission is to “provide emergency assistance to families and individuals within the Sequim School District to meet basic needs of heat, utilities and shelter.”
These are the community organizations U.S. Bank supported with grants this year:
■ Quilcene: Clallam County YMCA, $1,000; Habitat for Humanity International Inc., $1,500.
■ Port Angeles: Serenity House of Clallam County, $2,500.
■ Port Townsend: Olympic Community Action Programs, $2,000; Port Townsend Marine Science Society Fort Worden, $2,500.
■ Sequim: Boys & Girls Club of the Olympic Peninsula, $1,500; Sequim Community Aid, $2,000.
