WEEKEND: Snow gear swap, movie Saturday in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — The annual Hurricane Ridge Gear Swap is set at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is $3 per person or $7 for a family pass.
Participants can buy or sell used winter gear, equipment or clothing, and check out local outdoor activities, merchandise and rental information.
A selection of skis, snowboards, ski boots, car racks, helmets, gloves, jackets and backpacks, plus camping, climbing and hiking gear, will be available.
Equipment drop-off is from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Unsold gear should be picked up by 4 p.m.
Olympic Distributing is sponsoring a happy hour after the swap beginning at about 5:30 p.m., with food catered by Little Devil’s Lunchbox.
Refreshments will run through the evening.
At 7 p.m., “Days of My Youth,” a film from Red Bull Media House and MSP Films, will be screened.
The movie, filmed over two years, offers a glimpse into the journey of self-discovery that every skier experiences, according to www.skimovie.com.
Admission to the movie is $10.
All proceeds from the swap and the screening benefit the Hurricane Ridge Ski Team and the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club, which manages and operates the Hurricane Ridge ski area and tube park.
