United Way of Clallam County has received $200,000, or 20 percent, toward its goal to raise $1 million to invest in the community, as of Oct. 31.
According to a news release, United Way reaches out to the community for funding in different ways, including workplace campaigns and by letter.
Beginning Friday, a mailer with an invitation to make a donation will be delivered to all residents and businesses in Clallam County.
“This mailing is intended to reach people who may not give through a workplace, who are new to the community or are retired,” Jody Moss, executive director of United Way, said. “It is not a request for a second gift.
“Last year, local community members donated $881,418 to help strengthen everyone in our county.”
Donations to United Way can be made by payroll deduction, check, credit card, PayPal, direct billing, IRA distribution or stock transfer. All donations are tax-deductible.
For more information on making a donation, contact the United Way Office at 360-457-3011 or visit www.unitedwayclallam.org/give.
