PORT HADLOCK — A phone outage at the JeffCom 9-1-1 service center this afternoon blocked incoming and outgoing calls at the facility for about 90 minutes before the issue was repaired at around 4:30 p.m.

The calls were routed to Pencom in Clallam County, which is equipped to dispatch responders throughout the Northern Olympic Peninsula, according to Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management Director Bob Hamlin.

“We were ready for this and have drilled for the situation in the past,” Hamlin said.

CenturyLink restored the service, but the cause of the outage was not immediately available.
