VIDEO: Rep. Kilmer’s first speech before Congress

WASHINGTON — Rep. Derek Kilmer delivered his first floor speech in the House of Representatives on Thursday, criticizing the local effects of “outrageous,” across-the-board budget cuts proposed in Congress.

Kilmer, D-Gig Harbor, whose 6th District includes Clallam and Jefferson counties, calls on his colleagues in Congress to stay in the nation’s capital and keep working on a “smart, balanced long-term solution for addressing our fiscal challenges and getting our economy growing.”
