Construction to disrupt traffic in two areas of Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — Traffic will be narrowed to one lane during two construction projects in different areas of Port Angeles, one today and another Tuesday.
Starting at 8 a.m. this morning, Port Angeles Public Works crews will work on road trenching at the west end of the alley running between East Front Street and West Railroad Avenue.
Traffic flaggers will direct traffic, which will be taken down to no more than one lane at a time, the city said.
The trenching work, which is part of the city’s larger downtown waterfront development project, is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
Beginning at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, work on light poles will be done at the intersection of U.S. Highway 101 andTumwater Truck Route near the entrance to Del Hur Construction and Dunn Welding.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the area, with both traffic flaggers and Port Angeles police on scene to help with traffic control.
The work, which is expected to take up to four hours, is part of the city’s ongoing wireless mobile data system project.
