Wetlands purchase protects salmon habitat in Hood Canal

HOOD CANAL — A purchase of 160 acres of wetlands at the critical confluence of the north and south forks of the Skokomish River will protect habitat for salmon, including “threatened” chinook, summer chum and steelhead, experts say.
