Port Angeles: San Juan Airlines moving forward with Boeing Field service

While Big Sky Airlines considers Port Angeles, Renton-based San Juan Airlines is moving forward on plans to provide Port Angeles-to-Boeing Field service about nine-passenger turboprops “in December for sure,” company President Clyde Carlson says.

Passengers would take a free San Juan Airlines shuttle bus from Boeing Field to connecting flights at Sea-Tac, a 10 to 15 minute trip.

Instead of going through security in Port Angeles, as is the case with Horizon, passengers would go undergo security checks at Sea-Tac instead — saving time in Port Angeles but spending more time at Sea-Tac.

San Juan Airlines plans on providing Port Angeles-to-Boeing Field service whether or not Big Sky or another airline provides Port Angeles-to-Sea-Tac service, Carlson said in a telephone interview Tuesday from the company’s Anacortes office.
