Port Townsend: Aldrich’s owners take first step in rebuilding grocery

PORT TOWNSEND — The owners of Aldrich’s grocery in uptown have completed the first step in rebuilding the store.

Aldrich’s owners David Hamilton and Jonathan Ryweck filed an application Wednesday to construct a new building, the design of which hasn’t been completed.

The original building erected in 1889, burned down in the early morning hours of Aug. 4.
