EYE ON JEFFERSON: Housing pact before county, city

The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider approving an interlocal agreement with the City of Port Townsend concerning on affordable housing and housing programs during a meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend. An executive session is set for 11:30 a.m. on potential litigation.

At 10 a.m., commissioners will conduct public hearings on 2019 ad valorem tax levies.

At 10:30 a.m., they will conduct a public hearing on a proposal to lower the Shine Road speed limit from 35 mph to 25 mph.

At 11 a.m., they will conduct a public hearing on revising the Public Infrastructure Fund in the county code.

At 1:30 p.m., during the county administrator briefing session, commissioners will discuss the status of Lower Big Quilcene Floodplain acquisitions, hear an update on small farms programming and on noxious weed control projects.

They also will discuss a response to the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs concerning the Jamestown S’Klallam “In Trust” application.

Items on the consent agenda include:

• Notice of a budget hearing at 10 a.m. Dec. 3 and of the posting of the proposed 2019 budget.

• A change order for the Memorial Field lighting project.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council will consider approving a 2019 budget when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

The council also will consider an interlocal agreement with Jefferson County on affordable housing and housing programs.

It is expected to decide that the draft 2018 water system plan is incomplete and refer it back to staff for revision.

Other city committee meetings, which are in conference rooms at City Hall, 250 Madison St., unless otherwise noted are:

• Lodging Tax Advisory Committee — 3 p.m., third-floor conference room; special meeting.

A planning commission meeting originally set for Thursday has been canceled. All city offices will be closed Thursday and Friday Thanksgiving.

Jefferson Transit

Jefferson Transit board members will conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2019 budget when they meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The board will meet at the transit facility at 63 Four Corners Road.

The pubic hearing will remain open for comments until the Dec. 18 board meeting.

Board members also will go into executive session to discuss property.

Public Utility District

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will consider a final draft of the 2019 budget when they meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be at 63 Four Corners Road.

Development authority

The Fort Worden Public Development Authority Executive committee will hear an update on Makers Square when it meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be in Building 298 at Fort Worden.

The panel also will discuss the 2019 budget process, glamping financing options, opportunity zones, annual board member gifts and corporate sponsorships.

Fire District 3

Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will consider approving a 2019 budget after it conducts a public hearing on it at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Commissioners will meet at 323 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
