VOLLEYBALL: Chimacum beats Crescent 3-1

Second win of season for Cowboys spikers.

Peninsula Daily News

CHIMACUM — The Chimacum volleyball team beat Crescent 3-1 for their second victory of the year.

The Cowboys won Monday by a score of 25-12, 22-25, 25-16, 25-13.

Coach James Shingleton said his starters set a strong pace against the Loggers in the first set, so he sent in the reserves for the second set.

“They didn’t really find their rhythm the next set and committed too many service errors,” said Shingleton.

However, he said his players found their pace for the third and fourth sets and were able to win going away.

Renee Woods, Ericka Lindren and Sophia Clemmons led the Cowboys in service points for the final two sets, Shingleton said.

Chimacum (1-3, 4-6) played Tuesday against Port Townsend. Their next match is at home at 6:15 p.m. Thursday against Klahowya.

Crescent next plays Oct. 25 at Neah Bay.
