PORT ANGELES — Time to win or go home.
The Olympic Peninsula Eagles semipro football team will host their first-ever playoff game in Port Angeles this Saturday when the Renton Ravens come to town.
Peninsula is coming off a rough 48-0 road loss to the very same Renton team in its regular season finale last weekend.
Ron Wright Jr. had a couple of tackles for losses and Joe McClaughlin had two catches for 47 yards to lead the Eagles.
The Ravens’ speed on the Renton artificial turf proved to be too much for the Eagles (3-7 overall), Peninsula head coach Mike McMahan said.
He is hoping a switch to the grass field at Roosevelt Elementary School on Saturday might help even things out.
The Eagles won their first and only game at Roosevelt this season on June 27 when they beat the Snohomish County Thunder 21-6 behind a stellar defensive performance.
Kickoff for Saturday’s first round playoff will be at 4 p.m.
Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students ages 13-18. Seniors and children 12 and under get in for free.
The Eagles will host a pair of football conditioning and skills camps at Stevens Middle School this August.
Camp for ages 12-18 is set for Aug. 3-5 at the school, while ages 6-11 will meet Aug. 24-26. Sessions will run from noon to 3 p.m. each day.
Cost is $25.
Registration runs through July 30 at the Clallam County Family YMCA, 302 S. Francis St., in Port Angeles.
