SPORTS: Foster handles Port Angeles at 2A district boys basketball tournament Tuesday night

TACOMA — The Port Angeles boys basketball team lost in the first round of the West Central District 2A tournament Tuesday night.

The Roughriders rallied in the third quarter, trailing just 35-34 after three but fell behind to lose 58-41.

“We tied the game late in the third quarter and then had four turnovers in a row,” Port Angeles coach Wes Armstrong said.

Foster took over as the Riders struggled on the offensive and defensive ends of the court.

“We couldn’t handle their quickness,” Armstrong said.

The Riders move to the loser-out consolation bracket Saturday.
