Register for gymnastics classes

PORT ANGELES — Klahhane Gymnastics is registering for fall classes starting Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Classes are available for ages 2 through eighth grade on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

The class schedule and tuition rates are available at www.klahhanegymnastics.org.

Registration days and times are listed on the events calendar.

In-person registration with payment is required to hold a class spot.

Klahhane Gymnastics is located near the Wal-Mart intersection, 3318 E. Acorn Lane, west of McCroire Carpets.

Trail run set in PT

PORT TOWNSEND —The 15th annual Fort Townsend State Park Trail Run/Walk is Sunday, Sept. 6.

Registration is 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. race day in the Friends’ Barn at the park, 1370 Old Fort Townsend Road.

The 4-mile course covers seven of Fort Townsend State Park’s 12 walking trails, and travels through old-growth and wetland, over tree roots and moss, along bluffs overlooking Port Townsend Bay, ending on the original parade ground of the Civil War-era army post.

The start gun goes off at 9 a.m., and refreshments and an awards ceremony will cap the event.

First, second and third place awards are given by age bracket.

Additional awards will be given to the overall first- place male and female, and oldest and youngest finishers.

Registration is $15.

Proceeds from the event benefit Friends of Fort Townsend State Park and the Port Townsend High School cross county program.

A Discover Pass or day pass is required to park at the event.
