PREP FOOTBALL UPDATE: Sequim wins in overtime; Port Angeles falls 27-14; Port Townsend wins big; other area reports

SEQUIM — Miguel Moroles scored on a 1-yard run in overtime to give Sequim a 26-20 win over Olympic League foe North Mason on Friday night.

Moroles scored all four of the Wolves’ touchdowns, including an 84-yard run in the fourth quarter that tied the game at 20-20.

The senior quarterback finished with 131 yards rushing. He also completed 13 of 21 passes for 155 yards.

Sequim junior Kane Stoddard made an interception on the final play of regulation, but was run down 17 yards away from the end zone.

The Wolves (2-1, 4-2) move into third place in the Olympic League standings heading into next week’s game at Port Angeles.

Black Hills 27, Port Angeles 14

PORT ANGELES — The Wolves held the Roughriders in check for much of the game in a 27-14 nonleague triumph Friday night at Civic Field.

Black Hills quarterback Jayden Troy connected on four scoring strikes on the night, including touchdown passes on all three second-half possessions as the Wolves broke open what had been a 7-7 game late in the third quarter.

An inability to execute on offense, poorly timed penalties and lapses in third down defense doomed the Roughriders.

Port Angeles fullback Nathan Angevine was bottled up all night by the Black Hills defense, rushing 26 times for 39 yards.

The Riders (1-2, 3-3) host Sequim next Friday.

Port Townsend 56, Coupeville 20

PORT TOWNSEND — The Redhawks earned revenge for a sloppy 29-21 loss to the Wolves two weeks ago with a dominant performance Friday night at Memorial Field.

Port Townsend (3-1, 4-2) will travel to Klahowya (3-1, 3-3) next Friday with the top spot in the Olympic League’s 1A Division on the line.

The Redhawks beat the Eagles 22-9 in the season’s first meeting last month in Port Townsend.

Neah Bay 56, Tulalip Heritage 14

NEAH BAY — Cole Svec ran in four touchdowns for the top-ranked Red Devils in Northwest Football League action Friday night.

Quarterback Rwehabura Munyagi Jr. passed four two touchdowns as Neah Bay remained undefeated on the season (2-0, 5-0).

The Red Devils travel to face Lummi (2-0, 4-2) in Bellingham next week.

Elma 62, Forks 13

ABERDEEN — The Eagles took advantage of an injury-depleted Spartans roster in a romp Friday night at Stewart Field in Aberdeen.

Forks (1-3, 2-4) hosts Hoquiam next Friday.

Klahowya 41, Chimacum 15

BREMERTON — The Eagles rolled out to a 41-3 lead before the Cowboys added two fourth quarter scores Thursday night at Silverdale Stadium.
