PREP FOOTBALL UPDATE: Port Townsend bullies Chimacum and other North Olympic Peninsula prep scores

Hill has big night for Redhawks

PORT TOWNSEND – Quarterback Berkely Hill ran for five touchdowns and threw for another as Port Townsend beat up on rival Chimacum 55-6 Friday night at Memorial Field.

The win marked the Redhawks fifth consecutive victory in the Rhody Bowl rivalry, and all five have been blowouts.

Port Townsend has outscored Chimacum 280-18 in that five-game stretch.

The Redhawks (2-0, 3-2) visit Coupeville (1-1, 2-2) next Friday, while the Cowboys (0-2, 1-4) host Bellevue Christian (0-1, 0-4).

SEQUIM – The Vikings scored on two of their first four plays from scrimmage in the first quarter and rolled past the Wolves in an Olympic League 2A Division contest.

Sequim (1-1, 3-2) scored its only touchdown in the second quarter on an 11-yard pass from Riley Cowan to Gavin Velarde.

Velarde later left the game and the stadium with an injury to a tendon in his hand.

The Wolves host North Mason for homecoming next Friday.

KINGSTON – The Roughriders scored their first points of the year, but allowed a score in the final minute and lost on the road to the Buccaneers (2-0, 2-3).

Port Angeles (0-3, 0-5) steps out of Olympic League 2A Division play to host the South Puget Sound League’s Renton Indians (1-3, 1-4) next Friday.
