MATLOCK — Crescent’s Noah Leonard has had a lot of huge games for the Loggers over the past two seasons, but his game this weekend may have been his biggest yet.

Leonard scored 10 — count ’em, 10 — touchdowns, had 392 yards rushing, 529 yards from scrimmage and to top off his big day, four sacks on defense to help the Loggers beat Mary M. Knight 86-28 on Saturday.

Leonard’s big day tied a Loggers’ record for most TDs in a game, said coach Brian Shimko. Leonard also has a shot at the all-time season and career touchdown records for the Loggers, he said.

Leonard had 392 yards rushing on 17 carries with eight rushing touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 137 yards. Both of those catches went for touchdowns.

Eric Emery also had a big day for the Loggers, rushing seven times for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He also passed for 162 yards and two touchdowns and deflected five passes on defnese.

Shimko said that Brenten Dalton and Wyatt Lee had good games on defense.

The Loggers (5-0, 9-2), who have won eight straight, are done with their regular season but they host their first-round playoff game at 1 p.m. Saturday. Shimko didn’t know at press deadline who Crescent would be playing yet.

Quilcene 74, Evergreen Lutheran 6

QUILCENE — The Rangers locked up a Sea-Tac 1B League championship and an undefeated regular season with a 74-6 shellacking of Evergreen Lutheran.

The Rangers got two long defensive touchdowns from Robert Comstock III and were their usual efficient selves, running just 20 offensive plays while scoring 10 touchdowns.

Olin Reynolds had touchdown runs of 36 and 39 yards, rushing for 100 yards on just four carries, while Ashton Smead had a 61-yard TD run. Comstock also caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from Holdem Elkins in addition to his fumble recoveries of 42 and 68 yards. Ben Bruner also scored two touchdowns on offense and another TD on an interception return.

Comstock had seven tackles total while Zach Budneck and Chase Newman each had nine tackles.

Coach Trey Beathard said the “kids are excited” about their undefeated season and back-to-back Sea-Tac 1B title. It’s the first back-to-back champion since Quilcene joined the league.

Quilcene (5-0, 9-0) gets a week off and a first-round bye in the 1B Quad-District playoffs. The Rangers will play the winner of Evergreen Lutheran and Darrington on either Nov. 9 or 10 at a field to be determined.
