SEQUIM — For the second straight year, Sequim’s Jack Shea was the champion of the Clallam County Amateur with a score of 211 after three days at Peninsula Golf Club, Sunland Golf and Country Club and Cedars at Dungeness.

Shea, who graduated in 2016 from Sequim High School and was a champion golfer for the Wolves, shot a 70 at Peninsula on Friday, a 69 at Sunland on Saturday and a 72 at Cedars on Sunday to win the title. He now attends Western Washington University.

Current Sequim High School golfer Paul Jacobsen came in second with a 227. He shot a 72 at Peninsula, a 75 at Sunland and an 80 at Cedars.

The overall net champion was Gretchen Klein with a net of 204.

In the second flight of golfers, Klein was also the gross winner with a combined score of 228 (75-79-74). She edged out Jim McCausland who combined for a 239 (78-83-78).

In the third flight, Cliff Brown was the winner with a 267 (87-90-90), beating out Greg Shield, who carded a 274 (90-94-90).

The best net scores from the first flight were Alex Atwell with a 211, Curtis Rose and Rick Hoover with a 213 and Steve Gish with a 214.

In the second flight, the best nets were by Emily Cook witha 213, Tom Jacobsen with a 221, Glenn Songer with a 225 and Bruce House with a 228.

In the third flight, the best nets were by Yoon Park with a 206, Tom Caufield with a 213, Gary Valencia with a 216 and Marine Hirshfeld with a 225.
