Oregon State wrestlers leading Forks camp

FORKS — Oregon State wrestling head coach Chris Pendleton and several of his NCAA Division-I wrestlers will lead the Dam Wrestling Camp at Forks High School on July 20-22.

Forks Athletic Director Kyle Weakley said Spartans grapplers “are incredibly fortunate” to learn from Oregon State athletes and coaches.

There will be group sessions each day: a youth camp for younger kids from 9 a.m. to noon, while older wrestlers will attend from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Spartans head wrestling coach Daniel Frishkorn and Pendleton have a special connection, having competed alongside each other as grapplers at Oklahoma State University.

“This connection has undoubtedly played a role in bringing this incredible opportunity to our small community,” Weakley said.

PAHS volleyball camp

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles High School volleyball coach Alyssa Wetzler will lead a volleyball camp Monday through July 11 for players entering kindergarten through ninth grade.

The camp will be held at the high school gym with K-5th students attending from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and sixth-through-ninth from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Fundamentals, along with agility and quickness skills, will be taught through competitions and games.

The cost is $100 and includes a camp T-shirt.

Proceeds support the PAHS Volleyball program.

Players should dress to play volleyball and bring knee pads, snacks and a water bottle.

Shooting clinic

PORT ANGELES — A basketball shooting skills clinic for boys and girls entering fourth-through-eighth grade this fall will be offered July 22-24 by Port Angeles High School boys basketball coach Kasey Ulin.

The clinic will be held at the Port Angeles High School gymnaisium from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Ulin will provide instruction on shooting mechanics, drills, techniques and ways to become an elite shooter.

All players will receive a camp T-shirt, 1-on-1 coaching and drills to work on at home.

Campers should dress to play basketball and bring court shoes

The cost is $75 at the door, with checks made to Port Angeles Boys Basketball.

Volleyball Academy

PORT ANGELES — Momentum One Volleyball Academy will hold a camp with sessions for girls entering seventh through 12th grades this fall.

The camp will be held at the Peninsula College gym with high schoolers from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m and seventh-and-eighth graders attending from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and .

The cost is $100 along with a $20 USA Volleyball membership and includes a camp T-shirt.
