PORT ANGELES – A 76-year-old Port Angeles woman died in a Seattle hospital from injuries she suffered when a truck hit her in a crosswalk Friday evening.
Nancy A. Dunder died at Harborview Medical Center after being hit by a Ford Bronco pickup truck while walking across West Eighth Street at South C Street at 5:21 p.m., according to a statement from the Port Angeles police.
Dunder is the second elderly woman to be seriously injured by a vehicle while crossing a Port Angeles street this month.
Doris L. Foley, 74, was struck on Jan. 11 near the intersection of East First Street and South Peabody Street.
Foley was listed in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center on Saturday.
Dunder died at Harborview after being flown there Friday night, a nursing supervisor at Harborview told the Peninsula Daily News on Saturday, but she declined to say when Dunder died, citing federal privacy laws.
Dunder, who lived in the 900 block of West Fifth Street, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Angeles.
