LAPUSH — An archeologist today will examine human remains found during excavation work for a long-awaited Quileute Senior Center.
Construction on the $775,000 center was shut down by the tribe until it is determined if more remains are located at the site.
“We should know more about continuing the project after consulting with the archeologist,” said Audrey Grafstrom, executive director of the Quileute Housing Authority.
Workers unearthed remains Aug. 28 while digging the center’s deep foundation.
