VIDEO — Watch the Uptown Street Fair and Parade in Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND-BASED independent multi-media journalist and videographer Jack Olmsted staffs Pacific Northwest festivals, parades and public events.

Here is a new video posted by Olmsted on Saturday’s Uptown Street Fair and Parade in Port Townsend.

The Uptown Street Fair is one of the summer events that displays Port Townsend’s unique flair.

“We are celebrating the uniqueness of our town,” said event director Lisa Doray. “This is a celebration of all the people who inhabit Port Townsend.

“The fact that we are uptown makes us less tourist-oriented, although we are happy when they participate.”

Now in its 20th year, the fair includes many local and regional artists not seen at the weekly Port Townsend Farmers Market.

In the video, Nina of Inseason Catering talks about what got her “whimsy and a little spaced-out” at the fair.
