PORT ANGELES — A car crashed into a power pole Sunday night, knocking out electricity overnight to 966 customers in the Deer Park area just east of Port Angeles.
“PUD crews have been working though the night to address the situation,” said Clallam County PUD spokesman Mike Howe. “Power restoration is expected around noon today.”
Howe emailed at 12:04 p.m. that power had been restored at noon.
The State Patrol said Zach Taylor-Armstrong. 21, of Port Angeles hit the pole because he was driving too fast when he tried to make a left turn in his 2001 Ford Taurus from Mount Pleasant Road onto Kemp Street at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Troopers said Taylor-Amrstrong, who was cited for speeding, and a 17-year-old female passenger were not hurt. Both wore seat belts, the Patrol said. The car was totaled.
