PORT LUDLOW — Three fire agencies — Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue and Quilcene Fire — responded to a late-afternoon report Saturday of a “bad collision” at the junction of state Highway 104 and Beaver Valley Road.

Fortunately, the report seemed to be exaggerated: All passengers in both vehicles “self-extracated” with no apparent injuries, a Port Ludlow fire spokesperson said.

However, traffic slowed to a crawl through the intersection.

Witnesses reported that a vehicle had pulled out in front of the other, but it’s under investigation by the State Patrol.
